“In addition to being a vegan who smokes a cigar and is an animal rights activist who despises the National Rifle Association (NRA), Dan is also a stand-up comedian who paints and has previously hosted FOX TV’s Utopia. He also makes his living writing and drawing one cartoon per day, 365 days of the year. Then again, he isn’t necessarily all of those things right now.”

“Some of his jokes are based on real-life circumstances that he has encountered, while others are inspired by the quirky thoughts that spring into his too active brain. As someone who has the unusual ability to make people twitch with his cutting commentary on modern life, Dan also has the rare ability to make people laugh and feel good about themselves with his charming demeanor. It’s easy to see how his unique viewpoint on life extends beyond one-panel cartoons and into a fun, funny dialogue about a wide variety of topics. A provocateur and satirist who makes fun of himself and others, he stirs controversy and sparks revelations.”

This is the story Dan shared with us about how he got into art “Since I can remember, I’ve been doing some type of art nearly every day. My favorite activity as a child was drawing, even when I was three years old. In addition to participating in a variety of activities such as sports and exploring the outdoors, art was always my first option. Even though I’m in my 60s, I still do it every day, whether or not I’m paid.”

In my early twenties, while working at an advertising agency, I began sketching cartoons as a form of self-entertainment. Since then, I’ve been publishing a joke a day. All of those are 38 years ago, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. My work and art are two of my favorite things. If I wasn’t paid, I’d do it.”
